James Racioppi
Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream
Master puppeteer James Racioppi’s interpretation of this magical play with 20 handmade puppets is based on the play and soundtrack narrated by Richard Burton and members of the Old Vic Theatre. This puppet production, an encapsulated version of Shakespeare’s romantic fantasy, is geared towards young audiences.
A diversity of craft
Rod puppets are used for the main characters, while hand puppets are used for the comic ones. Combined, the show is created with a beautiful mastery of intricate handicraft.
An enchanting symphony
The soundtrack is a recording of Richard Burton and members of the Old Vic theatre – beautifully acted and edited to just over an hour for younger audiences. Original music was also composed for this production.
